Do you ever feel like you're stuck in a cycle of scarcity when it comes to money? Maybe you're constantly worried about where your next client is coming from, or you feel like you never have enough to do the things you really want to do. If this sounds familiar, it's time to start thinking about how you can shift your mindset and unlock abundance in your life.
The truth is, our thoughts and beliefs around money have a huge impact on our financial situation. If we're constantly telling ourselves that we'll never have enough, or that money is hard to come by, we're creating a self-fulfilling prophecy. But if we can shift our mindset to one of abundance and positivity, we can start attracting more money and opportunities into our lives.
So how do we make this shift? Here are a few mindset shifts that can help you unlock abundance:
1. Focus on what you have, not what you lack. It's easy to get caught up in what we don't have, but when we focus on what we do have, we start to feel more grateful and abundant. Take some time each day to think about the things you're grateful for, whether it's a roof over your head, a job that pays the bills, or a supportive network of friends and family. I even encourage you to write five gratitudes daily around what you are grateful for with your current financial situation. These may feel silly and sometimes even pointless at first, but keep going and make them honest. When I first started my money journey, I can remember one of my gratitudes being that my bank account was not overdrawn (yes, my story was that bad). Another one was that I was grateful I had milk in the fridge so my kids could have milk with their dinner. No matter where you are, there are things to be grateful in your current financial situation.
2. Believe that money is abundant and available to you. This can be a tough one, especially if you've struggled with money in the past. But the truth is, there is an abundance of money in the world, and it's available to everyone. When you start to believe this, you'll start to see more opportunities to earn and
save money. Sometimes, the initial ways money shows up can be unexpected in the form and the amounts. If you find a dime in a parking lot, pick it up and be grateful for it. If you are not willing to accept a dime, are you ready to accept more? The one consistent thing that I have found to be true about money is it loves to be given and received. This can be in the form of payment for something you get in exchange or just giving. So, if you are not energetically in a place to pick up a dime in a parking lot, chances are you may not energetically be in a place to receive an abundance of money.
3. Let go of limiting beliefs around money. We all have beliefs around money that hold us back, whether it's "money is the root of all evil" or "rich people are greedy." These beliefs can keep us stuck in a cycle of scarcity. These beliefs are often not even our own, they are ones our parents and grandparents had that we adopted in our childhood, often before 7 years old. Take some time to identify your limiting beliefs around money and then ask yourself if you really believe them? Once you have identified your limiting beliefs then work on replacing them with more positive, empowering beliefs.
4. Take action towards your financial goals. Finally, it's important to take action towards your financial goals. This can be as simple as creating a budget, starting a side hustle, or investing in your education. If action feels uncomfortable, start small but start nonetheless. When you take action towards your goals, you'll start to see progress, which will reinforce your positive mindset around money.
Remember, shifting your mindset takes time and practice. It is a journey well worth getting to the other side of. Walking this journey alone can be difficult, so if you know someone who is also in a position looking to improve their money mindset, doing it together can not only keep you motivated but offer support. With consistent effort, you can unlock abundance in your business and life.
